We know many of you are waiting for an update on our trip to Israel – and that will be coming within the week. We are actually all working on personal updates with our impressions from our trip, and also some new and exciting things in our lives.
But, since we couldn’t get to posting the updates before the busy-ness of Thanksgiving hit, we wanted to go ahead and write a Thanksgiving blog.
We have so much to be thankful for! First and foremost we want to thank you, our friends and family, for all of your prayer and financial support over the past year and a half. It is amazing to think that we have been back in Lviv for over a year now, serving together again as a family, and we know it wouldn’t have been possible without your gifts and support. We serve such a great and wonderful God, who is such a good Father!
This year we have begun to see fruit from the food ministry, and we are so thankful to have 4 people now visiting church and hearing more about God’s love for them.
We are thankful for how God has grown and expanded the food ministry (update coming soon – but in short, we are now taking at least 25 bags each week and have no trouble giving them all away!).
God opened many unexpected doors this year for us as well – traveling with our German friends to minister to holocaust survivors in Ukraine, working at a children’s camp for a week, youth conference where Bria led worship and did a mini-concert, and also we got to help with a 2 week English club with Campus Crusade.
We are also thankful for this time of being back home in Lviv, being with our church family, and serving in the church. Our church family here is truly special to us, and we cherish the time we have with them. We are so grateful for the things God has done in the church this year – we’ve seen 6 people accept Jesus as their savior, had a number of women’s conferences (and men’s, but we weren’t part of those), and sensed the Spirit in greater measure.
I’m sure there is more that we could express gratitude for, but we’ll leave it at that. We hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends.
